Saturday at Swaine for OSET Cup North

Many of the top British national competitors started their trials career at the OSET Cup North and still regularly attend to ride the elite route. Dominic Horne, Myles Hutchinson, Toby Shaw, Jasper Fox, George Hemingway, Freddie Stephenson and Alexander Horne have all competed for the coveted OSET Cup trophy. Just last weekend, Toby Shaw enjoyed the top step at the British national round. Dave Shaw, Toby’s dad said: “Toby’s first ever trial was the OSET Cup North in May 2014 and he was so nervous he did not want to enter it competitively – he’d only had the bike a week! It’s been an amazing couple of years where we’ve made lots of new friends, culminating in winning the first British national round last week. “When we started riding we had no idea about trials at all really and just came along to see what it was all about and got the bug! Everyone is really helpful and on hand to guide you through what trials is all about. Clearly we started on the easiest route and progressed onto harder obstacles as Toby grew in confidence and ability.” Simon Armstrong from OSET Bikes, who will bet setting out the event, said: “Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a first timer or a seasoned National rider. We will have a route to suit everyone.”
